International Key Supply engaged with 3five to setup, develop and configure a vastly improved website on the Shopify Plus eCommerce platform.
One of the main reasons for this new build was to provide IKS with the capabilities to provide customers with a wholesale portal where they could buy in bulk with ease. At 3five, our team were able to design a simplified retail version of their site where it was easier to identify exact products from their vast inventory.
Effectively, IKS needed a website that performed three functions; sell to wholesale buyers, a retail site simplified from their previous build and an international version of their wholesale site which catered to varying shipping costs and a modified inventory.
With the simplified retail version of the site Jayme was able to come up with a customized design and an improved user interface with lead to an enhanced usability.
IKS boasts a vast inventory which was proving difficult to navigate on their old site. Introducing a “Quick Search” filtering system was vital in improving the searchability of the website. A categories section was also added breaking the products into four key sections; tools, keys and remotes, accessories and brands. For further differentiation a ‘New Products’ section was added as well as a ‘Best Sellers’ section. This makes it easy for the user to immediately break down the huge inventory with ease, paving a pathway directly to the product they are in search of.
In terms of the design of the site, the use of a fixed navigation bar makes the menu items accessible to the user form anywhere on the site. This saves time and effort for the user as they don’t have to scroll to the head of the page to navigate their way around the site. If users can navigate your site quickly and with ease then you have a much higher chance of converting that user into a customer.
We handed over a much cleaner and more usable website to International Key Supply. Providing a better ease of use for the user was a top priority, ensuring vital information and products were visible immediately to the user.
